Australians embrace Sci-Ku

I’ve not come across the term sci-ku before but it means science haiku and there’s just been an inaugural competition in Australia which attracted entries from students, scientists, and poets with a scientific bent. It also inspired Professor Penny Sackett Chief Scientist for Australia to poetic heights (from the Chief Scientist’s website),

Light bent by bubble
on lens of star’s attraction
reveals dark planet

Professor Sackett encourages anyone who may have written their own Sci-Ku to publish it on her facebook wall: www.facebook.com/chiefscientist

Thanks to @kristinalford for the information about the competition.

The competition was held by RiAus (which I think stands for Royal Institute of Australia) and you can find the prize-winning entries here.
