Should you happen to be in Amersfoort, Netherlands from Oct. 5-6, 2015, the NanoCity 2015 event is being held there. Here’s more about it from the Sept. 23, 2015 NanoCity2015 programme page,
The complete programme of NanoCity 2015 is available. Visit the two-day event on nanotechnology on 5-6 October and enjoy a line-up of internationally recognised keynote speakers, such as Dr. Lerwen Liu and Sunghoon Kwon. Almost 100 speakers will be present, next to over 150 posters and several workshops and business pitches.
Workshops career development and demonstrators
NanoCitizens can attend workshops on career development, view some inspiring demonstrators and experience matchmaking for their future career. Don’t forget to visit the societal incubator carriage to explore how to bring nano-innovations and society closer together. The national facility for nanotechnology research NanoLabNL offers a cleanroom experience. Coaching on RATA is also available as is national TV channel RTL Z, which will air live broadcasts from NanoCity on Monday 5 October [2015].
The host organization is NanoNextNL, here’s more from their About page,
NanoNextNL is a consortium of more than one hundred companies, universities, knowledge institutes and university medical centres, which is aimed at research into micro and nanotechnology. The total sum involved for NanoNextNL is 250 million euros, half of which is contributed by the collaboration of more than one hundred businesses, universities, knowledge institutes and university medical centres and the other half by the Government of the Netherlands.
The first NanoCity was held in 2014, an event I missed mentioning here (drat!). In any event, do enjoy the 2015 version.
One final comment, NanoNextNL was mentioned in passing in a Dec. 24, 2013 posting featuring an interview with Carla Alvial Palavicino (University of Twente, Netherlands) about her work on graphene ‘hype’.
